HOW MUCH SUGAR SHOULD YOU HAVE?

Do you know the AHA American heart Association reccomends women should have no more that 25 grams of sugar per day. Set this in your app that tracks your food if you use one.
To put this in perspective its 100 calories per day or 6 teaspoons.

This is a good figure to aim for if you are trying to keep your body fat low or lower it.
This can keep us on a tight leash and if you have a sweet tooth like me you are constantly on the search for lower sugar snacks.

Here are some of my “go to’s”. Lundberg Kettlecorn Rice cakes

1 cake, 80 calories, 18g carbs, 1g protien, .05g fat, 3g sugar.

Sweet and crunchy – good to eat with 1 Tablespoon of nut butter, top with berries.

Flax 4 life brownies (YUM)

1 muffin 130 calories, 16g carbs, 2g protein, 7g fat,
10g sugars

Well, you can see how quickly that can add up even eating healthier foods, the key is to pic foods with some fiber in them. This will help to slow the absorption of sugar into the blood stream, avoiding any insulin spikes. Anyway, be on the search for your go to’s. They really help when that sweet tooth hits.
